accounting: discount on early payments
Dear contributors,Unfortunately odoo doesn't support discount for early payments yet, and it seems to be a feature that would be appreciated in many countries, because we developed such a module at camptocamp, as did Acsone in Belgium and Open source integrators.I opened the following issue on github to discuss how could we offer a single module in v15.0 covering all of the use cases in the OCA and avoid having too many modules for a similar requirement: https://github.com/OCA/account-payment/issues/462Feel free to join the discussion.Best regardsAkim

New Issue templates for OCA repositories
Hello everyone,We have just added Issue Templates for all the OCA repositories in Github.These will make it easier for everyone to submit more detailed issues in all repos, while at the same time making the process quicker and more efficient for both users and project maintainers.As this is an organization level change, they are immediately affecting all repos, so you can already see it in action when submitting new issues.https://github.com/OCA/.github will be the base repository for these templates, so you can address any issues or suggestions there.Regards,João Marques

New PSC for OCA/l10n-brazil project
Hello, contributors,I would like to propose Marcel Savegnago https://github.com/marcelsavegnago from the Escodoo Brazilian company as a new PSC for OCA/l10n-brazil.Marcel came with both a strong open source culture and strong ERP culture. That is both the technical and the functional culture we need.Over the last 18 months, he still did his homework, that is learn the OCA culture and ecosystem by participating in many OCA repo. This is very important considering our localization is arguably the most complex at least in the OCA and some modules are a bit daunting, forcing us to make more advanced design decisions than most other localizations around (l10n_br_fiscal is the largest OCA module, and our electronic invoicing is also the most complex by far).You may know Marcel because he got these 14 merged PR's OCA/manufacture:these 34 merges in OCA/fleet:or these 7 merges in OCA/helpdeskAs for us for OCA/l10n-brazil, Marcel got 74 PRs very welcome merged into OCA/l10n-brazil over the last 18 monthsand countless constructive reviews, always helping others.He his also an author or mentionned contributor of 15 OCA modules https://odoo-community.org/shop?version=16&search=escodoo

Hello contributors,As one of the 3 current PSC's (along with Renato Lima and Luis Mileo) I strongly support the addition of Marcel Savegnago to the PSC.Marcel has helped the project a lot over the last 18 months and we are sure he will keep doing it. It's very important considering how much the activity and scope of OCA/l0n-brazil is growing as you can see from the activity graph https://github.com/OCA/l10n-brazil/graphs/contributors with nearly 10 000 commits in the repository now over the last decade. In fact we only lose on the PR activity to Spain and Italy, which have arguably more mature localizations with a larger pool of skilled contributors and supporting companies but we are definitely on the track!On Wed, Oct 27, 2021 at 3:56 PM Pedro M. OCA 2021 Delegates Campaign - now open
--Dear Odoo enthusiasts, OCA members and contributors,
The 2021 OCA Delegates Campaign is open. From now and until November 5th, you can apply to be an OCA Delegate if you are a current paid Member.
Why?
The Delegate Assembly is the Association’s supreme authority. Each Delegate member is entitled to one vote at the Delegate Assembly. Decisions of the Delegate Assembly are taken by a majority vote of the Delegate members present and voting. For further details, please read the Bylaws.
How?
To apply as a candidate, you have to:
sign the CLA (if not already done)
have a valid membership. Make sure to purchase your membership or renew it (you should have received a quotation for your renewal earlier this year).
Campaign will be closed on November 5th, 2021.
Then what?
The vote will be open from November 8th - November 19th, 2021. Current OCA Delegates will have to vote for 10 new Delegates among the candidates.
The results of the election will be announced on those lists on November 7th, 2021.
The 10 new Delegates will then take part with the existing Delegates in :
the 2021 OCA Board Member Campaign from November 22nd to December 3rd, 2021
the 2021 OCA Financial Auditor Campaign from November 22nd to December 3rd, 2021
the 2021 General Assembly from November 6th to December 17th, 2021.
We look forward to seeing you at the OCA Days later this week - there will be two AMA OCA Board sessions where you can ask questions about this process or you can reply to this email as well.Warmest regards, Rebecca

OCA Days - need Zoom hosts and techies...
Hello OCA Contributors,
We are gearing up to an awesome two days at the end of next week for the OCA Days but we do need your help.
As we did last year we need people to "HOST" the sessions (introduce speakers, moderator/room chair ) and run the tech and manage the room.We had a great response to this request last year and it really helped to make the event run well.If you could please reply on this list and let me know if you are free for a couple/few hours over the 28th and 29th to help assist us that would be great. The sessions run from 9am to about 6:30pm CEST each day. I can then get in touch with you separately to organise once I have the volunteers.
We'll be able to run a couple of test sessions late this week and early next week.Have you registered for the OCA Days? Do so here.The timetable is shaping up, a few more items to add in, so keep checking back before the event!Also, if you want to sprint while the event is on, we welcome this and you will be able to co-ordinate on the Discord Sprint channel.Thanks in advance, I look forward to hearing from you.Rebecca--Rebecca GellatlyGeneral SecretaryOdoo Community Association

runbot maintenance
Hello everyone, I will stop the OCA runbots for maintenance today, around 13:00 UTC+2. This will be an opportunity for: 1. software updates 2. servers reboot (last one was 160 days ago) 3. upgrade of various Odoo-level modules and travis2docker to be able to build 15.0 branches Thanks for your patience. -- Alexandre Fayolle Senior Software Engineer Tel : +33 4 58 48 20 30 Camptocamp France SAS 18 rue du Lac Saint André 73 370 Le Bourget-du-Lac France http://www.camptocamp.com

Re: runbot maintenance
Hi, Alexandre,There's a side effect on the last change you perform: now any branch below 15.0 has runbot, as they still use .travis.yml. I think you have to put support for both file names in runbot.Regards.

15.0 branches
Dear contributors,As I'm writing this, the migration issues have been created and the 15.0 branches are being initialized.CI is done using GitHub actions by default.At the moment, runbot is not enabled while we are investigating options to make it run without .travis.yml.Let me know of any issue you might notice.Best regards,

Use a domain filter on odoo13 XML with a stored computed value
Hello,
I want to use a domain filter on odoo13 XML with a stored computed value
This is my code
Py-file:
partner_domain = fields.Char('Domein', index=True, compute='_compute_function_dependence', store=True)
@api.depends('adres_function_ids')
def _compute_function_dependence(self):
partner_domain = []
partner_domain = [['|'], ('customer', '=', True), ('supplier', '=', True)]
self.partner_domain = json.dumps(partner_domain)
I used :
- store = True (field has to be stored)
- json.dumps : The field used as domain must provide the domain as a JSON encoded string.
XML-file : FIRST TRY : I tried to filter with context
<field name="partner_id" string="Partner" attrs="{'required':[('IsFreeAdres','=',False),('vhg_functie_compute','=',False)]}" context="{'default_partner_domain':partner_domain}"/>
RESULT : This doesn’t filter anything for partner_domain field, it gives all the records (no filter)
XML-file : SECOND TRY : filter with domain
<field name="partner_id" string="Partner" domain="partner_domain" attrs="{'required':[('IsFreeAdres','=',False),('vhg_functie_compute','=',False)]}" />
While debugging :
Partner_domain = <class 'list'>: [['|'], ['customer', '=', True], ['supplier', '=', True]]
I get an error:

Odoo mailing-list (channels) and missing pictures
Hi everyone,I'm currently stuck on an Odoo behaviour about pictures in email sent on Odoo mailing-lists.I'm pretty sure that you already noticed this behaviour on this list: instead of seeing your picture, you see its alt attribute as "picture-of-thing.png".That's because when the mail is sent to Odoo, it converts base64 pictures to attachments and the mail content is transformed with an img tag<img src="/web/image/521951?access_token=a8301246-ab90-46a5-9dfe-eff9df3dafb4" alt=" picture-of-thing.png" width="437" height="562">The access_token is working perfectly but the img src is not composed using a FQDN ...Is there a module-workaround for this ?If not, I will have to create a fix, does someone know where it occurred in the code ?

Re: Odoo mailing-list (channels) and missing pictures
Found the culprit, current implementation breaks inheritance on `_send_prepare_body` and I don't understand why they used the body field from 'mail.message' instead of body_html from 'mail.mail' (at this point, the body_html field is already properly formatted since `_replace_local_links` has already been called on it).PR to fix this issue: https://github.com/odoo/odoo/pull/78390--

You might want to migrate https://github.com/OCA/social/tree/10.0/mail_embed_image to have Odoo send mails with embedded images, but for mailinglists that's not such a good choice because it would blow up the amount of traffic tremendously. -- Your partner for the hard Odoo problems https://hunki-enterprises.com

cleaning mailing list subscriptions of dead addresses
Hello everyone, Do you know of a module which could help in cleaning up mailing list memberships? I spent some time this morning going through the OCA's inbox, and checking for bounce messages saying 'this email address is no longer valid', and then finding the partners in our database and archiving them. However doing this manually feels a bit stupid, so I was wondering if the community had some pointers for the lazy sysadmin that I am, or some ideas about how to tackle this in a nice way. Thanks for your feedback :) -- Alexandre Fayolle Senior Software Engineer Tel : +33 4 58 48 20 30 Camptocamp France SAS 18 rue du Lac Saint André 73 370 Le Bourget-du-Lac France http://www.camptocamp.com

I don't know any, but I suppose it's not very difficult to be done for any volunteer in the OCA days code sprint.Regards.

OCA Days Call for Speakers Reminder - get your proposals in
Hello OCA ContributorsI hope the week is ending well for you all.
Just a reminder if you have a talk proposal for the OCA Days 2021 please get it sent in. We are in the process of pulling together the agenda with the talks we have had submitted already and really need to know what else is coming our way to get things organised.You'll see some of the confirmed talks already published with more to come...Also, Odoo Experience is happening next week and we still need a few more volunteers to help out at our Virtual Exhibition Booth - just to join the chat room and be around to answer any questions of visitors stopping by. Not quite the same as when we are at the physical event but still a bit of community spirit will go a long way. If you can spare an hour over the two days of Odoo Experience please pop your name on our rota. We definitely appreciate your efforts.Enjoy the rest of the day.Rebecca--Rebecca GellatlyGeneral SecretaryOdoo Community Association

Product set configurator
Dear contributors,
I am looking for a product configuration module to assemble a coherent set of compatible products. The typical example of use is the configuration of a computer (motherboard, processor, memory...). Each step of the assembly must allow to choose a component compatible with the previous choices according to rules to be defined (example: the processor chosen at step 2 must be compatible with the motherboard chosen at step 1).
I looked at the Product configurator module but it does not correspond exactly to what I am looking for because it uses the attributes of a single product but, in my case, the result will be a set of products added to the sale order (or to the cart on a e-commerce website).
Example of typical use on dell.com for a server configuration:
Does this functionality exist in an OCA module (front end and back end) ?
Thank you for your help

You can take a look at this project : https://github.com/akretion/sale-configurator
I plan to contribute it to OCA and I will propose a talk on it during OCA days.
The main concept is to define options on products (options are other products)
Then on a sale order you can add a "main line" (the product configurable) and "children line" that are linked to the configurable product.

Best regards

Thanks Luis,
But I think I already explored this solution without getting through.
Have a nice day

Re: Product set configurator
Hi YvesYou can take a look at this project : https://github.com/akretion/sale-configuratorI plan to contribute it to OCA and I will propose a talk on it during OCA days.The main concept is to define options on products (options are other products)Then on a sale order you can add a "main line" (the product configurable) and "children line" that are linked to the configurable product.Le ven. 24 sept. 2021 à 17:22, Yves Le Doeuff - Alliasys <yld@alliasys.fr> a écrit :Dear contributors,

Odoo Experience - volunteers for the OCA Virtual Booth
Hello OCA Contributors,
As you know Odoo Experience is online again this year and we need your help at our virtual exhibitor booth.The opening hours of the virtual booth will be right after the keynotes:- Wednesday Oct 6th - 15:30 - 22:00 (CEST)
- Thursday Oct 7th - 14:30 - 22:00 (CEST)
I've set the schedule/rota up in hourly blocks, any time you can give will be greatly appreciated. We'd love at least 3 or more people each hour to help out.
Schedule: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jp3MLgtpWx3odR134gO50rW5JY62s5nmNTlbuuMP8Xk/edit?usp=sharingPlease add in your name, company and email address on the schedule with the times you can help out, this way I can get in touch directly etc.The online set-up will be slightly different to the one used in 2020. Re: Odoo Experience - volunteers for the OCA Virtual Booth
HI everyone,Just a friendly reminder if you have an hour to spare next week over the Odoo Experience the OCA could do with a bit more help to "man the stand" at our virtual exhibitor booth.You can add your name to the rota here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jp3MLgtpWx3odR134gO50rW5JY62s5nmNTlbuuMP8Xk/edit?usp=sharingIt is really just a matter of logging into the chat on the site and being around to answer any questions. If you don't know the answer to any queries it isn't a worry as you can just get back in touch with me and I'll be able to get someone in touch with the person quickly enough.Really appreciate your help in advance.

OCA / OCB
Dear community,I am curious about OCA/OCB. Nowadays, is it still recommended to use OCB over Odoo?We has made some bug fix and propose to odoo/odoo, but it is not merged easily. Should we propose PR to OCB instead? But then, it will never land to Odoo, right?What is the practice around OCB today?Thanks!Kitti U.

Assunto: Re: OCA / OCBFor me at least it is quite relevant because I am supporting older Odoo versions with bugs, and usually these bugs are fixed in newer versions, then I can backport these in OCB. At least there we have a chance to share, code review, discuss, and possibly merge, without the PR being closed by Odoo.
Furthermore, when I use OCB, I can trust the above process will be followed even without me paying much attention. So I generally run instances on "latest OCB", saving me some bugs to have to think about.
It can be argued if these are good reasons but these are my reasons. Curious to know others opinions.
