Hello Luis,

For OL4 migrating from OL3 shouldn't be a problem as the changes are minor compared to the refactoring between OL2 and OL3.

There is yet no timeline to migrate to Odoo 11, we could face some issues on porting this module due to changes in the ORM but this is only assumptions.
Odoo 11 just has arrived so don't expect Geoengine to be ported very soon. I would advise you to start on Odoo 9.0 or Odoo 10.0 if you need to implement a projet with geoengine in the next months.
