Dear OCA-Board, thank you, i could not think of a more professional way to deal with such matters, that we are all concerned about!!! Unfortunately, not all people that develop Open Source Software are really interested in solving problems. Even if the original author obviously has his valid points to bring forward, he should have worked in collaboration with the OCA to sort out license issues and point his fingers to those that are mainly responsible for the problem created (i.e. TechReceptives). This action would have been enforcing the power of Open Source rather than hampering it. Lessons learned for myself and maybe the OCA: Trust is one of the most important, hence not explicitly named, principles of a vivid, agile and mature Open Source Community. As such we must take collaborative care on license matters in order to protect these principle values. BUT: In the same time we should also take collaborative action against those, who decide to shot with cannons at each and everybody (with obviously "hidden" intention) undermining the whole spirit of Open Source (competition of the god) rather than using the scalpel (i.e. enforcing license terms and using proper communication skill) to enforce their very one IPR. Ultimately officially mistrusting TechReceptives (by revoking their ECLA) for obviously deliberately breaking law is the absolutely right thing to do and without alternative.
