It is used to generate the analysis files which are already included in the openupgrade distribution so unless you want to hack and improve this process (you're more than welcome!) you don't need to use this module. What is worse, the requirements.txt does not even list openupgradelib, which you *will* need to develop migration scripts or migrate your databases. I guess that shows that none of the core OpenUpgrade developers use this file to install OpenUpgrade but we should probably add it. Maybe another PR from your side? Regards, Stefan.
