Re: The removal of the core maintainers team
by

Hello all, To be honest I was not "hot" on that decision, which seemed a bit premature to me, especially given the current state of the PSCs. As far as I remember, the goal was to encourage and accelerate the empowerment of the PSCs, which seemed to be hindered by the presence of the "core maintainer team", and the fact that a very small number of people such as Pedro Baeza where exerting themselves all over the OCA repositories to help get things moving. Such activity by the core maintainer team is of course helpful, esp. for smaller projects, supported by a very low number of people such as the l10n project mentioned by Stefan. On the other hand, it can be seen by more organized projects teams as interfering with their governance, and there have been complaints about unwelcome help / merges bypassing the discussions of PSCs. If the consensus is that the team is needed, let's reinstall it, but I still am convinced that having a heavy load resting on the shoulder of that team is not sustainable and that we need strong PSCs. -- Alexandre Fayolle Chef de Projet Tel : +33 4 58 48 20 30 Camptocamp France SAS Savoie Technolac, BP 352 73377 Le Bourget du Lac Cedex http://www.camptocamp.com
