Ok. Then as one of those people using code, I prefer to see all modules (ported AND unported) at once in the README.
If the unported modules were not in the 9.0 branch, I would need to dig in previous branches to discover what was there before and is just a port away.
And I have seen situations were people did not do that archeology exercise and independently reinvented modules that where in previous versions.

That's why I continue to think giving adequate visibility to unported modules outweights the disadvantages mentioned in this thread.

So I favor the status quo plus a clear explanation in https://github.com/OCA/maintainer-tools/blob/master/tools/gen_addons_table.py#L68, including a link to Pedro's procedure for porting.
