What is needed is a more general approach: a Qweb report visual designer, which lacks both Enterprise and Community editions.

So by the looks Odoo Community edition does not yet have a project running that support this feature.

 

Do you feel there is a need for such a module?

Does any other Odoo/Oca partner run into similar challenges as described within Odoo?

no, Odoo studio will only allow to change a text (ie : invoice address to address) but not the fields. 

Unless Odoo team improve the tool by then

Can help with reviewing, explanation, translations (Dutch) etc

@Onestein we run into the same challenge again and again that some of our customers want their layout to look just as their old one. (from a previous system.)

If we want to fix this from within Odoo this is no “quick” task. However customers do expect this.

 

We would like to start developing a simple module that will give users a wizard that helps them generate an invoice layout closer to their needs.

And develop it into a full fledge template designer over time and when there is enough interest.

 

What are your thoughts on this, do you run into similar questions, where do you see challenges. Or do you already know of a module that accomplishes what is needed.
